sub-section of your website.
Shared SSL Certificate
If your business will be collecting private
information from your website such as credit card details, then you’ll
need to setup a Shared SSL Certificate. SLL stands for Secure
Socket Layer, a protocol developed for transmitting private documents
via the internet. SSL works by using a public key to encrypt data that
is transferred over the SSL connection.
With a Shared SSL Certificate on your website, any information sent to your web server via the internet is encrypted or scrambled, making it impossible to intercept or steal these files. A Shared SSL Certificate displays the identity of the website owner, and the name of the independent authority who verified that identity. Utilising SSL, assures you and your customers that all online communications are secure whilst this information is being transmitted. Securing the transmission of information to your business holds obvious benefits, as does signifying that you are a trustworthy online organisation.
