1. Research & Planning

Researching the websites requirements
This is one of the most important stages when developing a website however many web developers often don’t spend enough time analysing the clients requirements or even worse, skip this stage altogether. KDG understand the importance of getting it right the first time which is why we invest so much time in understanding your requirements and objectives before we start working on your project.

During your initial consultation you would have discussed how the website will work, look and what features it will have. The Consultant will then have to convey this information onto the Project Manager. To ensure that all information is accurately communicated, the Project Manager may need to get in touch with you to discuss the project in more detail. Although a thorough requirements gathering session is conducted prior to starting development, the Project Manager or other development team member may need to contact you to discuss the direction of the project during various stages of the development cycle.

Planning the development of the website

All too often we hear of web developers that make promises they can’t keep. They promise to have their clients websites finished by a particular date only to deliver it months later; often blowing out the development budget at the client’s expense. At KDG, we guarantee all our work will be completed on time and on budget because we take the time to carefully plan and manage each of our projects using tried and tested systems we have developed over the years.

Before we commit any resources to your project, we first map out a development plan for the website. This includes a list of the tasks required to successfully complete the project including budgets and timelines. Throughout the development, the Project Manager reviews the plan and carefully monitors the progress of the project to ensure that it is being developed on time and on budget. A detailed analysis is conducted after each projects completion to ensure all processes were correctly followed and that best practises were employed at every stage of development.
